The hail atlas

Your roof has already been hit. Here's when.

Damage from an older storm can still be claimable — most policies give you a window measured in years, not weeks. Pull the record for your address and we'll tell you honestly whether there's a claim in it.

Radar sizes come from NOAA's Severe Weather Data Inventory. They tell us where to look — the chalked test squares on your roof tell us what actually happened.

ROOFING

Repair & storm response

Leaks, wind-lifted shingles, and emergency tarping. Sometimes the honest answer is a repair, not a replacement.

The claim, step by step

You have a contractor and an insurance read from the same person.

Dan spent years on the valuation and adjusting side before he ran crews. That's why the paperwork and the roof line up instead of contradicting each other.

Typical timeline

Inspection → check in hand · 2–5 weeks

Roof installed in 1–2 days

STEP 01

Inspection

45 minutes on the roof. Test squares chalked, strikes counted, everything photographed and measured.

STEP 02

Honest read

You get a written opinion on whether the damage is claimable — including when it isn't worth filing.

STEP 03

Claim filed

Dan writes the scope in carrier-standard line items so the estimate matches the actual roof.

STEP 04

Adjuster meeting

He meets your adjuster on the roof, walks the damage, and supplements anything the first estimate misses.

STEP 05

Install & close

Tear-off and install in one to two days, final walkthrough with you, and the site left clean.

Start with an inspection

No claim, no cost. If the roof is fine, we'll say so in writing.

Dan Grant · Owner · Grant Group Contractors

Who shows up

The person who inspects your roof is the person who signs the contract.

Dan Grant has been in Colorado since 1981 and has spent twenty years across construction, insurance, and residential valuation. Grant Group is deliberately small: he runs the inspection, writes the scope, handles the adjuster meeting, and is on site while the crew works. No canvassers, no call center, no handoff to a project manager you've never met.

Insurance questions

The things people are actually worried about.

Still unsure? Call (303) 669-4174 and ask Dan directly — he'd rather talk you out of a bad claim than file one.

A hail claim is a weather event, not an at-fault claim, so carriers generally rate it differently from something you caused. Rates in Colorado move with the whole region after big storms whether or not you file. Dan will tell you what he's seen on similar policies before you decide.

Free roof inspection

Book the inspection. Find out where you stand.

45 minutes on site. You get annotated photos, hail-strike counts per test square, and a written opinion on whether the damage is claimable — yours to keep either way.
